Section 9

Section 9, launched in 2021, is a philanthropic and research-driven initiative founded to empower Caribbean youth and advance socially responsible innovation. It connects students and young professionals in the arts and sciences to real-world opportunities while driving applied research in Artificial Intelligence and emerging technologies. The initiative’s groundbreaking work includes developing Agentic AI systems that accurately predicted the outcome of the Jamaican National Election in 2025, as well as pioneering projects in Food Safety using Generative AI and Computer Vision. To date, Section 9 has facilitated over 200 job placements across the region and continues to promote a future where AI, creativity, and community development work together to create meaningful impact across the Caribbean.
